Miss Eamnarangkool's 5th Grade Classroom Webpage

Hello, and welcome to 5th Grade!

My name is Ms. Eamnarangkool, and I am incredibly happy to be your teacher this year.  We have gotten to know a little about each other already at move-up day, but I am looking forward to getting to know more of you throughout the year.  I was born and raised in Southern California.  My first language was Thai (my parents are from Thailand...most people know of Thailand because of Thai food), and I had to learn English once I started school.

I went to UCLA (my dream school) and graduated with a bachelors degree in Psychology, and a minor in Asian American Studies. If you are a USC Trojan fan, you will do very poorly in my class this year (JUST KIDDING!) I was able to finish my minor at the University of Hawaii in Manoa (this was incredibly a fun experience and I am forever in love with Hawaii because of this).  My Masters degree is in Educational Counseling from the University of La Verne.

I enjoy the outdoors; I love hiking in the mountains and kayaking.  I also love to travel!  When I was at UCLA, I had the opportunity to study in both Hawaii and in Italy.  While I was in Italy, I was able to visit 12 other countries, and it is definitely an experience I can never forget.  Also, every year, my friend and I take a small road trip to a state nearby.  Most of you already know that I love to tell stories; a lot of my stories include my travels (look forward to these!).

I believe that a good learning community is based on mutual respect and understanding.  I respect you and I will try to be as understanding as possible.  I believe that learning comes from dialogue (people talking and sharing with one another), and I believe that I can learn from you just as much as you can learn from me.  Know now that I will never give up on you, and I will not tolerate you giving up on yourself.

Again, I am excited for this school year.  I can't wait to begin to learn and grow with you as we travel through your 5th grade school year.
